What to know about 83-inch TVs
Eighty-three inches is the largest size widely available in OLED, and the one that most tests an installer’s handling. The panel is over six feet wide and only a few millimetres thick for most of its area. It comes out of the box upright, stays upright, and is lifted by two people holding the reinforced lower section.
Plan the wall before delivery: measure for a 73-inch-wide screen, confirm two or three studs across the bracket’s width, and check the route from the door — the carton is roughly seven feet long. In a bright room, consider where the windows are; a glossy screen this size reflects a lot of the room behind you.
Typical rooms for this size: dedicated media rooms and large open-plan living spaces.
