What to know about 48-inch TVs
The 48-inch size exists almost entirely because of OLED production — LCD ranges tend to go from 43 to 50 instead. That makes it a popular choice for people who want OLED picture quality in a bedroom or a small living room without the cost of a 55.
At roughly 42 inches wide it’s the first size where spanning two studs at 16-inch spacing becomes practical, and worth doing if you’re fitting a full-motion arm. For a room where you sit six to seven feet away, a 48 fills your view about as much as a 65 does from nine feet.
Typical rooms for this size: bedrooms, apartments, dens and gaming rooms.
