What to know about 77-inch TVs
Seventy-seven inches is the OLED equivalent of the 75: the size premium OLED ranges offer instead. The screens are remarkably thin across the top two-thirds, with the electronics and mounting holes concentrated low on the back. That has two consequences for mounting. The bracket ends up lower than the centre of the picture, so height is measured from the mounting holes, not from the middle of the screen. And the panel must never be carried flat or gripped by its upper corners.
Many owners choose a slim fixed mount to show off the profile. Above a fireplace that is used regularly, check the wall temperature first — OLED panels are less tolerant of heat than LCDs.
Typical rooms for this size: home theaters and main living rooms.
