Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TV Mounting Auburn AL ("TV Mounting Auburn AL", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you visit tvmountingauburn.com or book a TV mounting visit with us. We are a local service business based in Auburn, AL.
The short version: we collect only what we need to do your job, we never sell your information, and you can ask us to see, fix or delete it at any time.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us when you book or contact us
- Name, mobile number, email address (optional), service address and ZIP code
- Details about the job: TV size, wall type, bracket, cable and add-on choices, date and arrival window, and any notes you add (for example a gate code)
- Your choice about receiving text messages, and when you made it
- Messages you send us by text, email or phone
Information collected automatically
- Visit statistics. We count visits with our own privacy-friendly counter. It stores the day, a one-way scrambled ("hashed") session code, the website that referred you, your device type (phone, tablet or computer) and language. It does not store your IP address, name or any advertising ID.
- Cookies and browser storage. We use one essential session cookie so booking forms work securely, and your browser remembers your last wall design on your own device. If we turn on Google Analytics, Google sets its own analytics cookies (see section 4).
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) for security and troubleshooting, for a limited time.
Wall photos. If you attach photos of your wall when booking, we keep them privately with your booking so the technician can prepare. They are only visible to our staff, are stripped of location data, and are deleted together with the booking record.
Job photos. Our technician may take before and after photos of the work. You can see them on your private booking page. We only show a photo on our website with your permission, and never with your name or address.
Website chat. If you use the chat assistant on our website, the questions you type are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to write an answer. Please don't type personal details there — for booking, use the booking form or call us. We don't use chats for advertising.
Payment information. If you pay online, you enter your card details directly with our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We only receive confirmation that the payment went through.
2. How we use your information
- To schedule, confirm, carry out and follow up on your service visit
- To contact you about your booking by phone, email or text message (see section 5)
- To take payment and keep business and tax records
- To answer questions, handle warranty requests and resolve problems
- To understand how our website is used so we can improve it
- To protect our customers, staff and business against fraud and misuse, and to comply with the law
We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similar effects on you.
3. We do not sell your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context targeted advertising.
4. Who we share it with
Only the service providers that help us run the business, and only what they need:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Our technicians | To travel to you and do the job |
| Twilio | Sending booking text messages |
| Our email provider | Sending booking emails and receipts |
| Stripe | Online card payments |
| Anthropic (only if the website chat is turned on) | Answering questions typed into the website chat |
| Our website host | Storing the website and booking records |
| Google (only if Google Analytics is turned on) | Website usage statistics — see policies.google.com |
These providers may only use your information to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena or court order, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of our business (in which case this policy continues to apply).
5. Text messages (SMS)
If you agree when booking, we send you text messages about your booking: confirmation, reminders, "on the way" notices, and a completion message that may include a payment link and a review request. These are transactional messages about the service you requested, not marketing.
- Message frequency varies — usually up to 6 messages per booking.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any message to stop texts at any time. Reply HELP for help, or call (334) 555-0140.
- Consent to texts is not a condition of booking; without it we will contact you by phone or email instead.
- Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We do not share or sell your mobile number or your text-message consent with third parties for their marketing purposes.
6. How long we keep it
- Booking records (name, contact details, address, job and payment status): as long as needed to provide the service and warranty, and for up to 7 years for tax and accounting purposes, then deleted.
- Visit statistics: up to 1 year.
- Text and email delivery logs: up to 2 years.
- Photos of finished installs that we show on our website never include your name or address. We only post photos of your home with your permission, and we will remove any photo on request.
7. How we protect it
We use reasonable security measures for a business of our size: encrypted connections (HTTPS), password-protected staff access with limited roles (technicians only see their assigned jobs), encrypted storage of service passwords and keys, and payment handling by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
If a breach happens: if we learn that sensitive personal information about you was acquired without authorization and is reasonably likely to cause you substantial harm, we will notify you as required by the Alabama Data Breach Notification Act of 2018 (Ala. Code § 8-38-1 et seq.) — generally within 45 days — and will notify the Alabama Attorney General and consumer reporting agencies when the law requires it.
8. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- See the personal information we have about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your information (we may keep what the law requires us to keep, such as tax records)
- Stop text messages (reply STOP) or emails (reply to tell us)
Contact us at hello@tvmountingauburnal.com or (334) 555-0140. We will verify your request (usually by confirming your phone number or booking reference) and respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request. If you live in a state that gives you additional privacy rights, we will honor them.
Do Not Track: our website does not track you across other sites, so it does not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
9. Children
Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, consistent with the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Links to other sites
Our website may link to other sites (such as Google Maps or our Google Business Profile). Their own privacy policies apply there.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make important changes, we will post them here before they take effect.
