What to know about 100-inch TVs
A hundred inches is where a television starts to replace a projector. The screen is about 87 inches wide and 49 inches tall — more than seven feet across — and typically weighs 120 pounds or more. It is the top of our size range and always a two-technician install.
The wall needs to be planned like a small construction job: three or four studs behind the bracket, or masonry; an outlet inside the TV’s outline; and a check that the screen’s lower edge clears furniture when its centre is anywhere near eye level, because half the height is two feet. Measure every doorway and stair turn on the delivery route. Fixed or tilt mounts are the sensible choice; few articulating arms are rated for this weight.
Typical rooms for this size: home theaters, large great rooms and commercial spaces.
