86 to 100 inches takes two of us
An 85″ TV weighs around 100 lb; a 98″ can be 130 lb or more and is nearly seven feet wide. That's a two-person lift, a bracket that spans at least two and usually three studs, and a doorway plan before the box even comes inside.
For 86–100″ screens we always send two techs, bring an extra-wide bracket rated for the weight, and check the wall for straightness — at this width, a wall that bows a quarter inch shows. Labor for this size is $184.
What's included

Price my job →How we do it
- Plan the carry
Box path, unboxing spot and where the TV rests face-up — giant panels flex if carried flat.
- Span the studs
Three-stud brackets spread the load and the leverage.
- Two-person hang
One on each side, hooks engaged together.
- Final level
At this width, even a small tilt is visible — we laser it one more time.
Questions about large TV mounting (86–100″)
Do you take the TV out of the box?
Yes. We unbox, inspect the panel with you, attach the bracket arms and hang it.
Can a 98″ go over a fireplace?
Rarely — the bottom edge ends up very high. We'll measure and tell you honestly.
What about full-motion for a 100″?
Possible with a heavy-duty arm rated for the weight, but most people choose fixed or tilt at this size.
