Out with the old TV, same visit

Upgrading usually leaves you with an old set nobody wants to carry to the curb — and TVs aren't supposed to go in household trash in many places because of the electronics inside.

While we install your new TV, we take the old one off the wall (and its bracket, if you want it gone), patch the old bolt holes so they're ready for paint, and haul the TV away for recycling. It's $29 added to your mounting visit.

Before you say goodbye to it, consider whether the old set still has a job: a working 43–55″ TV often makes a great bedroom, guest room or garage screen. If so, we can mount it in its new room during the same visit instead of hauling it off — book it as a second TV and the extra-TV discount applies.

What's included

  • Removing the old TV and, if you like, its wall bracket
  • Filling the old lag-bolt holes ready for paint

How we do it

  1. Unplug and lift off

Old brackets sometimes have safety screws or clips — we know where to look.

  2. Remove the bracket

Only if you're not reusing the spot.

  3. Patch holes

Spackled flush and ready for your paint.

  4. Haul away

Out of your home and to recycling.

Questions about old TV removal & haul-away

Do you take tube TVs?

Ask when booking — old CRT sets are very heavy and we may need a second person.

Can you reuse my old bracket?

If it fits the new TV's VESA pattern and weight, yes — choose “I have one” when you book.

Do you paint over the holes?

We fill and smooth them; painting is up to you so the color matches exactly.

What can you take with the TV?

The TV itself, its stand, remote and loose cables. Bulky furniture such as an old entertainment center is a separate haul — mention it when booking and we'll tell you if we can fit it in.
