Before we arrive: a 10-minute checklist

Updated October 4, 2026 · TV Mounting Auburn AL

A little prep turns a one-hour visit into a 45-minute one — and avoids the "we'll need to come back" moment. Here's what helps most.

The day before

  • Pick the wall and rough height. Painter's tape on the wall in the TV's size helps a lot (height guide).
  • Keep a new TV in its box until we arrive. We inspect the panel with you before hanging it.
  • Find the stand screws and remote. If you're keeping the stand for later, we'll bag the screws.
  • Know your Wi-Fi password and streaming logins if you'd like us to test apps.
  • Tell us about the wall if you know it's brick, plaster, metal studs or a fireplace — note it when booking.

Clear the space

  • Move fragile items off the console and mantel.
  • Leave about 6 feet of open floor in front of the wall so we can lay the TV face-up on a blanket.
  • Keep pets in another room — drills and ladders are no fun for them.
  • If there's an old TV on the wall, leave it up; we'll take it down.

Devices and cables

  • Gather the cable box, streaming stick, console and soundbar you want connected.
  • If you're getting wires hidden in the wall, note which devices will sit below the TV.
  • Have HDMI cables long enough to reach — or add a 4K HDMI cable ($15) to your booking.

If it's a new TV

Check the box for damage before we open it, and keep the receipt handy. If the panel turns out to be cracked or has dead pixels, it's far easier to return before it's on the wall. We'll power it on with you before hanging so you can see a full picture first.

On the day

You'll get a text when your tech is about 30 minutes away. Someone over 18 should be home. When we're done, we'll test every input with you and clean up the dust and packaging.
